Promote Gun Safety in Your Child Care Program

“Guns do not belong in homes with Children

June 21st is ASK Day. (Ask) is held on the first day of Summer, a time when children are playing in other homes. This is a campaign that promotes parents to ask if there is a Gun in the home that their child is playing in. “Asking Saves a Child’s Life.”

This will also be a great day to have your staff to talk to the children about Gun safety including some of the following topics: talking to the children about never touching a Gun, who should have a gun, not allowing gun play in the classroom and what to do if they see a gun.

To find our more information about Ask Day, download Gun Safety resources, Posters and Flyers for parents/staff, visit the American Academy of Pediatrics website.
