According to the United States Small Business Association, Choosing a business location is perhaps the most important decision a small business owner or start-up will make, so it requires precise planning and research.
It involves looking at demographics, assessing your supply chain, scoping the competition, staying on budget, understanding state laws and taxes, and much more.
There are 3 things that you must do, before choosing a Location for Your Child Care Business:
- Check the Demographics. Are there working families with young children living near your center. Get demographics here, click here (simply enter your zip code to get demographics)
- Check out your competition. Are they filled to capacity? What are their rates? Are they Accredited? How long have they been in Business?
- Do you need professional help? Should you hire someone to write your Business Plan? Do you need a Business Coach? Don’t try to do it all yourself, hire help if you need it!
