Who am I?

My name is Dr. Shiketa Morgan. I’m a woman of prayer, married for 31 years, I am a mother and a grandmother. I have been a childcare business owner since 1998. My childcare business journey began in my home daycare in Ferguson Missouri. I left a career as a Medical Assistant to step out on Faith and Open a Family home childcare business.

As my knowledge grew in early childhood and while operating a home daycare, I was inspired to Grow the business into a childcare center. In 2003, My husband and I opened our first childcare center. We operated that location for 11 years and after spending over 11 years discovering what it took to build a successful childcare center, I was ready to keep growing the business.

While operating my first center, I was inspired to blog about the business of childcare. I was also inspired to further my education in Business and in Child Care.  My Formal Early Childhood education was received from Florissant Valley Communication College. In 2010, I received an associate’s degree in business arts from the University of Phoenix and in 2024, I received an Honorary Humanitarian award and Honorary Degree for my work as a Child Care Business Owner, Coach & Author from the Global International Alliance at More House College in Atlanta Georgia.

In 2014, the business expanded from a 1500 square foot store front location into a 6,600 square foot beautiful location, we went from being licensed from 40 children to 99 children. It was a big move that taught me that whatever you dream and prepare for you can accomplish it.

I also had a dream to have multiple locations and in 2016, that dream became a reality and that when my journey began as a multi-site owner. Most of all, that’s when I discovered to power of having a dynamic team and the importance of investing in the leaders around you.

In 2018, my Husband and I moved to Atlanta Georgia with the vision of opening a childcare center in another state. That dream became a reality in 2021 and the center is still thriving today!

I believe that you have come to this page to because you want to discover or gain fresh insight on how to start, grow and/or build a successful childcare business. Most of all, you may even want to discover how to effectively lead your team.

After hitting road block after road block attempting to start a Childcare Center, I became discouraged until I found Mrs. Morgan. After reading her story about her Childcare Expansion journey I was fascinated. Words can’t express the gratitude I have for her as she so graciously and selflessly is walking me through the start-up process. Without her I don’t know where I would be. I look forward to seeing her beautiful smiling face every visit. She brightens my day with her wisdom, professionalism and her Godly counsel. No question is every unanswered or insignificant. She goes above and beyond to see your dream of owning a Childcare Center come into perspective. God truly blessed me when pairing me with Mrs. Morgan. If you want a coach to inspire, motivate and cultivate your vision, you came to the right place. Thank you for paving the way for future Childcare owners.
    Love,
    Shari G

Good Morning! I just wanted to say that I just found your site yesterday and I am extremely happy that I did. I have been praying for awhile now asking God which direction should I go. Should I expand from my home daycare to a center or not. I’ve been discouraged on several occasions but after finding this site I feel empowered to do so. My faith has been strengthened in just a matter of minutes because I feel you are so relatable. Thank you so very much for the information you are providing, for being a vessel of the Lord! I will be glued to this site in every way I can!

    Hello Shiketa,

I was trying to download the parent handbook and I’m unable to get in. Do I have to have a log in for Scribd in order to access all the forms that you have available?

    Thanks,

    Marcia
