Creating New Habits For a Successful Year!

good habits

Successful people have Successful Habits.~Jack Canfield

I am reading a book by Jack Canfied titled: The Power of Focus. The cover of the book caught my attention because I know that focused people are successful people.

So with that in mind, if you want to have a successful year in the business of childcare, you must get focused and develop good habits that lead to you having a Successful year.

In the book The Power of focus, Mr. Canfield wrote: “If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got!

Do you want the same results this year that you got last year?

If not, It’s time to review your habits and develop new ones. I recently made a list of my bad and good habits and I discovered that I had 12 bad habits!

I know that’s bad, however, my good habits out weighed my bad ones and I was proud of that.

Today I want to challenge you to make a list of bad habits that produced bad results in 2012 and work on changing those habits this year.

My husband bought me a stack of 3 x 5 cards and I will  use those cards to help me to stay focused on working on my new habits. For example: This week, I will write the following on a 3 x 5 card:

My Bad Habit (s)

” You can’t control every situation so , do not allow others to cause you to get upset.”

That’s my focus for my first week of business in 2013 and yes, I have allowed others to cause me to get upset easily and I must learn to let go in order to go up!

My Good Habit

One of my good habits has been my consistency in my weekly routine and in planning my day. I believe the results of being focused has led to me getting much accomplished and having very productive business days.

What bad habit do you have that needs to change? Leave your comment below and let’s get rid of bad habits together!

Good Choices= Good Results

Bad Choices= Bad Results

Spend Your Child Care Business Income on Purpose!

On September 28, 2011, I received eight boxes of shelving for my center! I was so excited to receive the new shelving and throw out the old shelving. The shelving came with a $1400 bill and I was given 30 days to pay off the balance.

The day that I received the shelving, the parents were in the process of raising funds to pay for the shelving. However, the money that the parents raised was not enough to pay the entire bill and I was forced to pay cash for the shelving with a monthly payment plan.

I must say that as of the date that I write this blog post, the invoice that I received for the shelving is now PAID IN FULL!!!

When I wrote the final check to pay off the invoice, I was reminded that when you create a goal and a budget for what you want for your business; you can have anything that you desire without the burden of loans!

Do you desire to purchase new equipment for your childcare business? If so, step out, create a payment plan for what you want and you will be amazed at what your business can afford when you spend your business funds on purpose!!

I look forward to reading your thoughts about this post. Talk to you soon!
