Motivating Your Staff with Positive Notes

My Center Director and Assistant Director are reading a Book titled For by Jeff Henderson. The forward is written by one of my mentors, John Maxwell.

This book has helped us to stay focused on who we are for and it also has given us fresh insight on how to build a positive culture.

In chapter 11 Jeff talked about how he wrote three thank you notes a day five days a week to motivate his staff. Then he ended the chapter with this note: ” A person who feels appreciated will always do more than expected.”

Wow! So I took Jeff advice and left done sticky notes on some classroom doors for the lead teachers to read and I. return someone left a Sticky note on my office door. It was a great feeling to see that note and it truly inspired me.

I hope that you have been inspired to motivate your team and boost the morale in your child care business.

Reshaping Your Vision With a Core Value Chart

After being in business for over 25 years, I just gave my mission statement a make -over. In fact, I was inspired to take a closer look at what I valued in my Childcare Business.

For many years, I’ve logged onto websites and read their core values and their core values inspired to either do business with the company or not.

Let me ask you a question:

1.Do you have core values established for your child care business?

2. Are you feeling like your vision is not clear for your staff?

3. Have you made it clear what your values are?

If you feel like it is time to breath fresh life into your vision, I want to challenge you to take the time to create and post your core values for your child care business.

When I created my new Core values, I feel like it outlined what mattered to us all at Learning Days. Furthermore, it clearly defined out Vision. **See my website for an example.

I also believe that it will make it easy for a parent to decide whether or not they will pick my child care center. Most of all, having a new core value chart for my staff, provides the staff with an outline of what we stand for.

I hope that you have fun making your new core values just in time for a new year and I believe it will attract what you desire for your child care business!
