New Recipe Idea For Your Weekly Menu: Pizza in a Bowl!

I just love having school-age kids in my program, because they are full of new ideas. This past summer, I observed a group of children looking through some cook books during our summer treats curriculum theme. I walked over to the children and asked, ” What are you guys looking at?” They showed me a picture of a bowl of pasta that was smothered in pizza sauce a pepperoni. It looked so delicious and then the kids asked, “Can we please have this for lunch someday?”

I asked one of the children to write down the recipe and I went to the store buy the ingredients for the recipe: Pizza in a Bowl. Moreover, this dish is now served in my program once a month and today I am going to share the recipe with you.

Pizza in a Bowl Recipe

Mostacolli Noodles (*Grans/Bread)

Pepperoni (*Meat)

Mozzarella or Parmesan Cheese (*1 oz of Cheese is a Meat Substitute)

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Boil the noodles for the recommended cooking time
  2. After draining the water from the noodles
  3. Add the pizza sauce and pepperoni to the noodles
  4. Sprinkle with Cheese and let simmer

If you really want to get creative, add some olives and veggies!
