I read an article years ago that mentioned how much playing Chess is like running a business. After playing my first game of chess on thanksiving day,I can honestly say that playing chess is truly like operating a business.
In fact, that game reminded me of how much focus it takes to run a business and the importance of thinking about every business move before you make it.
Running a Child Care Business can be like a chess board sometimes;
- You gotta put the right people in the right places
- If you don’t make a decision, you will be stuck
- when you make a decision, you gotta know how that move or decision will affect the business.
Here are 5 more takeaways that I got from my 1st Game of Chess:
- Get you a coach who knows how to play the game. My step Dad is skilled at Chess, and he taught me well. He guided me through my moves.
- Focus! If you’re not focused, you’ll make the wrong moves.
- Think about your move before you make it and why you made and think about what happens if you make a move.
- Play the center of the boad and know the role of each ame piece. Don’t try to be a jack of all trades!
- The queen is the most powerful piece! That reminded me of the power of a woman in business.
I hope that this post has inspired you to play Chess and be mindful of your business moves.
