Inspirational and Empowering Child Care Business Owners To Build Successful Child Care Businesses

Staffing a childcare center with dependable staff can be a challenge for Center Owners and Directors. In fact, I must say that when a center is not staffed with dependable staff, it can have a negative affect on the center. Most of all, this is why it is important to have dependable staff on your team and systems in place that motivates good attendance and excellent performance.

I recently incorporated a point system to keep track of staff tardies and unexcused absences. Also, I incorporated an incentive system to encourage the staff to show up on time and to consider our point system before calling off. In fact since we incorporated the point system, there has been fewer tardies and no call offs.

I’m not claiming to have the answer to all your staffing issues, however, I felt led to share with you what has worked for my center.

  1. My Director bought a spin wheel for the staff to spin when they have no tardies or call off for each month of employment.
  2. We also reward the lead teachers for decorating their classrooms with our curriculum theme in mind. The teacher with the best creativity wins a gift basket and a gift card.

This new incentive system has added accountability and also motivated our staff. What are your thoughts about this post and has this post inspired you to reward punctuality? Please feel free to share your thoughts..

I am writing a new book and the book is titled, The Business of Childcare.

Out of all the books that I have written and published; this book is truly a special edition because it was written with 25 years of building a childcare business in mind.

Furthermore, I decided to publish this book because I have learned so much in the past 25 years and I want to share with those childcare business owners that are coming behind me on this childcare business Journey.

“This is not an easy Journey and any insight that you can get, helps a great deal.”

My twenty-eight-year-old daughter Chasity wrote the forward to the book and I can hardly wait for you to read it.

I asked Chasity to write the forward to my new book because she has been on the Journey with me since she was three years old, and she is now on my management team.

My New book is written with three words in mind:

  1. Faith
  2. Quality
  3. Family

I believe that it takes faith to start and to build a childcare business. In fact, I also believe that quality care must be a top priority in a childcare business. Most of all, Connecting with Families must also be the core of the business, because I believe we exist to support the families.

My New book is expected to be released on Monday February 19, 2024 and it will be available in eBook form and as a paperback copy sold on Amazon.

May This year bring you lots of good success with lots of Joy and Laughter!
