Finish Strong Series: Day 1 Focus

Focus is the key to Success!

As I write this blog post, we are 30 days away from a brand new Business year and it is vital that you finish this Business year strong!

In fact, I believe that it doesn’t matter how the year started, however, it matters how you finish the year!

During the next 30 days, I am going to share with you 31 ways to finish your Business year strong and today’s topic is: Focus!

If you want to succeed at anything it is vital that you have laser like focus. So, with focus in mind, I have a few questions for you:

  • What should you really be focused on right now?
  • What is keeping you from being focused?
  • If you were to get focused, could you turn your Business around in 30 days?
  • Do you have any  goals that you have not accomplished yet?
  • Could you accomplish at least one of your unmet goals in 30 days?

Take a moment to answer each question above, write your answers in a Journal and make the decision today to get focused on what matters!

You would be surprised at how being more focused will change how much you get accomplished in one day.

Here are 3 easy ways to get Focused:

  1. Plan your day by creating a Priority list. The night before you start your day, use a note pad to write down your top 5 task of the day and do not add anything else to the list until you have completed those task.  You can also use a note pad on your cell phone to store priority list. It is vital that you practice planning how you will spend your time daily. You will feel more organized and more focused. Successful people are planners! * Be sure enrollment building is apart of your daily task
  2. Plan to Keep your office space, center or home organized. Having  a well-organized environment  will help you to feel clear in your mind and feel more organized as you work in that space. It’s difficult to focus in a clutter environment.
  3. Delegate more –So that you can do more of what brings you a higher payoff.  Last year, I delegated party planning to my parents and the parties have been amazing ever since I decided to delegate that task. Also, I recently decided to delegate more duties to my staff and I must say I feel more focused and I empowered my team at the same time. Because of my decision to delegate more, I no longer do bulletin boards, classroom observations, book orders or plan parties. Now my focus is on Business growth, coaching and writing.

Business Expansion Inspiration

As I  write this blog post, One year ago today I relocated and expanded my Child Care Business.

I can hardly believe that it has been a year since I expanded and I must say that a year goes by  fast when you are super busy and having fun.

November 28, 2014 was a very emotional day for me; It was the end of a location full of so many wonderful  memories and the beginning of a new season for my Business.

Today I want to share with you how this expansion has inspired how I view Business Growth.

  • If you have a dream to grow your Business, you must know that it will soon be a reality. For 12 years, I wondered what it would be like to have one large location. My Business grew from a 1600 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft location.
  • Allow your friends and family to help you. Trying to expand alone is a ton of hard work and besides, you would be surprised at how much others really want to be apart of your Success.
  • Focus! As I expanded, I only had energy to focus on license visits, getting what I needed for the Business, communicating with employees and spending time with my family. When you are growing a business, it is vital that you choose what you focus on.

  • It’s time to think differently. When you change your thoughts and learn new information, you will change your results. The way that I operated my old location is completely different from how I operate my new location. I spend more time, greeting parents, conducting tours and planning for the Business.Now I have site supervisors, my husband helps me to run the Business and I train my staff to be more self disciplined.
  • Be Confident and Positive! You will enjoy your Success more when you are positive and build your Business with confidence. I have not always felt confident on this journey, however, I’ve learned to fake it til I make it. People are attracted to confident and positive people. So smile more, trust that you can do it and walk with confidence!
  • There are families that need your Services. When I expanded my center, I had less than 30 children at my old location. 22 families came with us and now we service over 70 families. I am so happy that  I expanded!
