Inspirational and Empowering Child Care Business Owners To Build Successful Child Care Businesses

In August 2010, I was inspired to start a blog titled, The Child Care Business Owner. I was inspired to blog about operating a childcare business seven years after opening my first childcare center.

As a new center owner, I struggled as a leader, and I was constantly overwhelmed with staff issues. In fact, the first 10 years of the journey was frustrating, and I was determined not to give up.

After struggling as a leader for several years, I decided to get a business mentor, and I read tons of leadership books. As I began to grow as a leader and invest in myself as a business owner, I was inspired to teach what I learned.

In fact, I wanted to help other childcare business owners to avoid the mistakes that I made in business, by sharing proven success strategies that I implemented in my center.

Over the course of fourteen years, I launched a coaching program, written 17 books, been invited to speak at childcare events and created digital products to inspire childcare business owners all over the world.

Today the blog has had over 450,000 hits online and has thousands of subscribers. The first five years of launching the blog, my biggest readers were home providers. Today my followers are mostly center owners or individuals seeking to start or grow a childcare business.

Furthermore, since I’ve launched this blog, I’ve expanded my childcare business four times including moving into a new city and operating multiple locations. Also, I’ve received an honorary doctorate degree from the Global International Alliance and that I’m so thankful to get such an honor.

My passion now is truly to inspire you to grow as a leader, business quality center and build the team of your dreams.

Moreover, In the past 14 years I have learned firsthand that when you grow as a leader, your business will grow!

I’m truly amazed at how this blog has grown and I believe there is more inspiration to do. The business of childcare has not gotten any easier. In fact, I pray that this blog provides you with wisdom that makes the journey easier for you.

Please take a moment and share with me how this blog has inspired you. Thanks for subscribing!

Get By New Book The Business of Child Care

Every summer, I plan a Team luncheon for the staff at my childcare center. The purpose of the luncheon is to inspire the staff to have fun together and get to know each other, especially the new staff. Also, I have an amazing team and I want to show them that I appreciate them.

Team Learning Days

Last year I hosted my 1st team building luncheon with my Georgia location at a local New Orleans inspired restaurant and we had a wonderful time. This year, I will host a luncheon at a Caribbean inspired restaurant that will include some Caribbean drinks and some fun team building games.

I am writing this blog post because I want to inspire you to build the team of your dream and to share with you some fun ways to build a team that loves to work together:

  1. Set up a group chat where the staff can post positive inspirational messages and where important staff reminders are posted. ** Nothing negative
  2. Plan team luncheons or dinners and play fun games at least twice a year. ** This could include a Fun Christmas party.
  3. Hold a monthly potluck. * Food brings everyone together
  4. Hold contest often where staff can compete with one another and offer prizes. ** Competition is a great motivator.

Please be sure to let me know if you have tried any of the ideas that I have shared above. Also, if you any ideas, feel free to comment on this post.

Happy Team Building!
